Re-formatted

In the interest of providing more frequent updates, I have decided to let go of the ideal of including photos with every post.  The incessant need to provide photographic evidence of my musings has become an enormous obstacle; I often find myself delaying the publication of a new post pending the acquisition of decent visuals.  This delay can last days, or as is the case recently, weeks.  Furthermore, I'll also be forgoing my long descriptive commentaries for a more concise and informative style.  From now until mid-October, expect short posts geared towards keeping you, my readers, informed of the slightly less mundane happenings of my daily life.  This will be only temporary, for once I finally pass my qualifying exam, I won't feel so stressed about devoting time to recreational writing.  Now then, on to the facts...

This month started with a Labor Day weekend trip home to see my parents.  I also got to hang out with my very cool friend Heidi, whom I'm hoping will show me all the good stuff D.C. has to offer when I visit there in October.  The hurricane made the weather poor for my visit, but it was inconsequential, since I accomplished my goal of relaxing and not worrying about my exam for that extended weekend.

Moving to the new apartment is near complete, and the place looks great.  Everything feels generally roomier than my flatmates' former place, mostly due to efficient use of space.  We haven't gotten any complaints about the drums yet.  My large bed doesn't take up my entire room as I had worried it might.  Things seem to be going smoothly, but we still have some unpacking and organizational tasks to attend to.  I'll post some photos of the place once we're all settled in.

We went Salsa dancing last night. I was on the fence about going, but decided to just stay for a hour and once we started dancing, I was very glad I went; it was super fun.  A big thanks to Lily for putting up with my missteps and bad spins.

Finally got tickets to the Treasure Island Music Festival on Ebay for several doll-hairs less than face value.  I'm pretty excited about that show, as well as the free Tilly and the Wall/White Williams show the night before at PopScene.  Hopefully I won't be too stressed about my exam to enjoy the weekend.
